VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Tharawal Public School’s vision for reconciliation is for teachers, students and families to be agents of change in the process of reconciliation. We will ensure that teachers are supported to facilitate an equal and equitable learning environment that acknowledges and respects the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ ways of knowing, learning and doing.

We envision a united community where First Nations peoples’ and non-Indigenous people come together with shared trust, respect and understanding, fostering a learning community where everyone can grow, thrive and succeed.

We are committed to building a culturally safe community that respects First Nations peoples and cultures, promoting high expectations and positive self-identity for all learners.

We provide meaningful opportunities for collaboration with, and guidance from, First Nations community members and Elders in learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and connections to Country.
