Narragunnawali: Reconciliation in Education

Professional Learning in Action for Principals and School Leaders

Delivered by Reconciliation Australia’s Narragunnawali team over two sessions, this in person workshop provides facilitated engagement with a curated selection of Narragunnawali Professional Learning resources, as well as supporting the development of professional learning communities. Participants learn how Reconciliation Action Plans support prinicpals to lead whole school change towards reconciliation. Participants will also engage in deep learning around reconciliation themes including:

  • the context and concept of reconciliation in Australia and their role in the reconciliation movement 
  • the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority
  • evaluating resources 
  • thinking critically about the value of reconciliation initiatives
  • budgeting for the respectful implementation of reconciliation initiatives 

These sessions contribute to 6 hours of ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) Accredited PD for the Australian Professional Standards for Principals.

* Principals attending these sessions must provide their TQI Teacher Accreditation number to Reconciliation Australia to have their hours logged with TQI. Principals must attend for the duration of both sessions to receive the TQI accredited hours. Reconciliation Australia will be keeping records of attendance and participation during the session.
