Who We Are: People (Primary)

overview

Who We Are: Brave New Clan is a series of films developed by CAAMA Productions and Reconciliation Australia in partnership with Foxtel that follow the lives of six exceptional young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who share stories about their communities, histories and cultures in contemporary Australia.

This activity supports students to engage with the film Who We Are: People, wherein six young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people introduce who they are. The hosts identify their nations and describe their experience of family. The film shows how the hosts are making their own way in the world, enjoying success as individuals and making a significant contribution to their communities and Australian society.

Throughout this curriculum resource, students will look at the influences of people, community, family, kinship, culture, spirituality, history and contemporary Australian society on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This curriculum resource was developed in partnership with Cool Australia.
