Focusing on three key themes: cultural identity, copyright and controversy, this activity explores the cultural, historical and political significance of the Aboriginal flag. Resources include a Living Black episode featuring an interview with Harold Thomas, who designed the Aboriginal flag; a photograph of athlete Cathy Freeman, who held the Aboriginal flag at the 1994 Commonwealth Games; and Reconciliation Australia’s factsheet on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags.
